A Microsoft Azure Case Study
Callaway Golf, a global manufacturer of golf clubs, balls, and accessories, needed to trim IT costs and fix a fragmented, underutilized datacenter environment. The company faced high colocation fees, scattered customer data, slow scaling during traffic spikes, maintenance-related downtime, and limited ability to manage remote sales devices — all of which constrained agility and revenue-generating activity.
Callaway migrated about 4 million consumer records, many websites, databases, and services to Microsoft Azure and adopted Windows Intune for mobile device management. The move reduced IT costs by more than $300,000 annually (colocation fees fell from ~$30k to ~$3k/month), enabled provisioning in hours instead of months, improved global performance and availability, and gave proactive management of sales computers to help maintain order-taking and revenue flow.
