Global sustainability leader targets new heights of carbon neutrality with Azure Digital Twins

Vasakronan, Sweden’s largest real estate company, needed a better way to control and understand the huge volumes of data coming from nearly 200 commercial properties. The company wanted to improve sustainability and energy use, but its sensor data had been scattered across multiple closed systems. To solve this, Vasakronan turned to Idun ProptechOS built on Microsoft Azure.

Microsoft Azure helped Vasakronan unify building data through Azure IoT Hub, Azure IoT Edge, and Power BI, creating one integrated system for real-time monitoring and analysis. The solution automated data collection, reduced manual work and human error, and made LEED certification easier. It also enabled better energy management, remote analysis, and new pilot projects across the portfolio, with future plans to use digital twins and predictive maintenance.
