Global software company Episerver uses Azure Data Explorer to gain enhanced consumer insight

Episerver is a global software company that provides personalization, web content management, digital commerce, and marketing services to thousands of customers. When a major client required visitor segmentation based on historical activity within three months, Episerver needed a more capable data and storage solution to support large-volume tracking, profiling, and fast queries.

Episerver adopted Microsoft Azure Data Explorer (ADX), working with Microsoft on POCs and deploying a solution within the deadline; broader rollout to other customers followed two months later. ADX enabled comprehensive visitor tracking and segmentation (part of Episerver Visitor Intelligence and CDP), simplified querying with Kusto Query Language, and reduced operational overhead by replacing self‑managed VMs—freeing engineers to focus on product development and improving marketing and personalization capabilities.
