Global IT services leader stays agile, elevates business value with cloud services

CSC, a global IT services leader headquartered in Tysons, Virginia, set out to modernize its workplace and build cloud offerings for clients. Facing the challenge of replacing a disparate on‑premises environment (including Lotus Notes) with a secure, mobile productivity platform, CSC aimed to be a first adopter to drive internal change and validate a cloud‑based offering for customers.

CSC licensed 65,000 Office 365 seats as “Client Zero,” partnered with Microsoft FastTrack, and used Azure to deploy virtual machines and migrate 55,000 employees to Exchange Online in five weeks (peaking at 2,800 mailboxes per day). Combined with targeted change management and training, the rollout cut infrastructure costs (including halving voice conferencing spend), demonstrated hybrid, security, and compliance capabilities, and positioned CSC to market its MyWorkStyle Office 365–based services to clients.
