Global high-tech manufacturer supports rapid growth with a modern ERP system

Polypore, part of Asahi Kasei, manufactures microporous membrane battery separators used in consumer electronics, vehicles, and energy storage. Rapid global expansion through organic growth and acquisitions left the company with isolated ERP systems, more than 700 disparate business processes, and inconsistent workflows, reporting, and higher operating costs across multiple sites and cultures.

Polypore implemented Microsoft Dynamics AX and used Microsoft Dynamics Lifecycle Services (LCS) on Azure to standardize processes and streamline deployments. The new ERP and LCS gave the company reliable data, repeatable and faster rollouts (with ticket resolution improved by 25–50% and training materials produced in hours rather than weeks), reduced maintenance costs, and improved IT and overall business efficiency as it expands into India, Thailand, China, and the US.
