Case Study: Game Studio Inc. achieves faster, more automated development builds with Microsoft Azure

A Microsoft Azure Case Study

Preview of the Game Studio Case Study

Game Studio uses Microsoft Azure to cloudify its development environment, improve build speeds, and cut operational management workloads

Game Studio Inc. needed to reduce the heavy workload of maintaining an on-premises game development environment, while also solving version control issues and supporting a multicloud setup. After moving from Subversion/Git complexity, the company chose Microsoft Azure, along with tools like Helix Core and Azure AD, to cloudify its development platform.

Microsoft Azure helped Game Studio automate repository management and build processes using Azure DevOps and Azure Virtual Machine Scale Sets, while Azure AD simplified single sign-on. The new environment eliminated the need to procure build servers, increased builds from nightly runs to 20–30 per day, sped up error detection, and reduced costs through Azure Spot VMs and ephemeral OS disks.
