Microsoft Azure helped enable an automated, text-based results delivery solution that sent negative COVID-19 test notifications as soon as they were signed off in Fenway Health’s electronic health record, using secure identity verification and HIPAA-aligned safeguards. The result was delivery within 30 minutes of EHR receipt, with 80% of patients viewing texts within 15 minutes and staff freed to focus on patients who tested positive, improving capacity and speeding results from days to minutes.
