Facility services firm uses cloud tools to build productive mobile work environment

ABM, a New York–based facility services firm with about 118,000 employees and more than 300 offices worldwide, needed to enable a highly mobile workforce—technicians, managers, and executives—to access and share data securely from varied devices and locations while reducing IT overhead and improving service delivery.

ABM deployed Office 365 to ~12,000 users and adopted the Microsoft Enterprise Mobility Suite (Azure AD Premium, Intune, with Azure Rights Management planned) to provide single sign-on, federated identity, self-service password reset, multifactor authentication, and mobile device management. The result was faster, more secure access to apps and data, centralized device control and updates, an expected ~30% reduction in helpdesk password calls, and improved field productivity and customer service.
