East West Bank builds a modern platform on Azure to win new mobile customers

EastWest Bank wanted to process all incoming transaction data in real time and build a scalable, highly available, services-based infrastructure. Using Microsoft Azure services, including Azure Cosmos DB, the bank aimed to support instant transaction processing with strong fraud protection and disaster recovery.

Microsoft Azure helped EastWest Bank implement a real-time data pipeline with Azure Stream Analytics, Azure Functions, Azure SQL Database, and Azure Cosmos DB. The result was transaction handling “over the wire” in as little as 20 milliseconds, including fraud checks, and the bank cited these Azure services as delivering its biggest ROI.
