A Microsoft Azure Case Study
Boys & Girls Clubs of America, a nationwide nonprofit with 4,300 Club locations serving roughly 4 million youth, faced growing pains from a decade of expansion: outdated IT, frequent datacenter and website outages, and insufficient data-privacy protections that threatened service continuity and the safety of member information. Leadership identified a need to modernize infrastructure so Clubs could reliably deliver programs and support to children and families across the country.
The organization implemented a Microsoft-based digital transformation—migrating to Azure, adopting Office 365 E3 with Digital Loss Prevention, and using Dynamics 365—while launching the MyFuture youth platform. The move cut website downtime by about 85% (to 99.9+% uptime), kept services running through events like Hurricane Irma, enrolled 11,000+ youth on MyFuture, and added stronger security, automated compliance training, and centralized, scalable systems that better enable Clubs to serve members.
