A Microsoft Azure Case Study
BioCatch is an Israeli cybersecurity software company that uses behavioral biometrics to analyze hundreds of human-device interaction parameters and protect banks and enterprises from online fraud. Rapid customer growth exposed limits in its original monolithic, VM-based Azure platform: high costs, slow code changes, and insufficient elastic scaling to keep up with rising traffic and evolving fraud threats.
BioCatch re-architected to microservices and containers using Azure Container Service with open-source DC/OS, migrated algorithms from .NET/MATLAB to Python, and adopted a sprint-oriented DevOps/CI-CD approach. The new architecture improved response times by more than 1,500%, enables automatic scaling in about 20 seconds, supports up to 15 daily releases, dramatically reduces infrastructure costs, and lets the company expand into new markets and handle far larger data volumes.
