Core Banking Software Provider Moves Flagship Offering to the Cloud and Opens New Markets

Temenos, a Geneva-based provider of core banking software used by 450 million people daily, faced the challenge of moving its flagship T24 on-premises core banking application to the cloud so customers could lower IT costs, meet strict security and compliance requirements, and gain the agility needed for digital and mobile banking. The company needed a cloud platform that was both highly scalable and easy to deploy to serve regulated banks, microfinance organizations, and startup banks worldwide.

Temenos built a cloud version of T24 on Microsoft Azure using Azure Cloud Services, Azure SQL Database, and Azure Virtual Network with site-to-site VPN, enabling rapid, out-of-the-box deployments. The move delivered faster implementations (months instead of longer timelines), elastic scaling for end-of-day processing, stronger compliance auditing, reduced need to hire operations staff, and opened new markets by offering T24 as a SaaS option to emerging and startup banks.
