Case Study: Contidis achieves rapid, unified business insights to scale Angola’s Candando superstore chain with Microsoft Azure

Preview of the Contidis Case Study

Contidis gets the business insight it needs to build Angola’s nationwide superstore chain

Contidis is building Candando, a nationwide superstore chain in Angola with $400M in investment and high expectations for fast, data-driven growth. Before opening its first store, the company discovered its SAP for Retail deployment in AWS couldn’t deliver the flexible, timely business intelligence managers needed—report creation was slow and business users lacked the data and mobile access required to make operational and pricing decisions.

Working with Microsoft partner DevScope, Contidis implemented a hybrid BI solution using Power BI, Azure SQL Database, and Azure Analysis Services (initially bridging SAP with Excel, then consolidating into an Azure data warehouse). The rollout delivered row-level security, alerts, mobile price comparisons, and automated ETL and scaling, enabling 100+ employees to spot fraud and inventory errors, measure promotion impact, and access real-time insights. The result: faster, more autonomous decision-making, IT efficiency, scalable storage (14M records and ~10,000 daily transactions), and lower operating costs through on-demand cloud scaling.
