Case Study: Universidad de La Sabana achieves centralized, automated email signature management with Microsoft Azure

A Microsoft Azure Case Study

Preview of the Universidad de La Sabana Case Study

Colombian university enhances its email signature management with open source software that runs on the Azure platform

La Sabana University, a Colombian higher-education institution with over 10,000 students and about 1,500 faculty, needed to centralize email signature management to enforce branding, ensure compatibility with Office 365, and reduce the time IT spent helping users configure signatures. Inconsistent, user-added signatures risked noncompliance with institutional guidelines and made it hard to add standardized contact info or strategic messages.

The university deployed Signtul, an open-source signature-management tool hosted on Microsoft Azure by partner Tulpep, using Docker, Node.js, Azure Redis Cache, SignalR and other components. The solution routes Office 365 mail through Azure to append standardized signatures across webmail, clients and mobile, enabling one-time Active Directory sync, fast implementation and updates, immediate signature changes, fewer support requests, and improved branding consistency and scalability.
