Cloudera Enterprise on Azure provides an innovative BI solution for small and medium business

Banco de Crédito del Perú (BCP), the country’s leading bank, needed to turn large volumes of under‑used POS transaction data into actionable insights for its business customers. The goal was to build Crecemás, a free B2B portal and dashboard service for merchants, while meeting strict security and compliance requirements and achieving a very fast time to market.

BCP implemented Cloudera Enterprise on Apache Hadoop running on Red Hat Enterprise Linux and hosted on Microsoft Azure, integrating mainframe and Oracle data with Java orchestration, microservices and REST APIs to deliver web and mobile dashboards; sensitive data are encrypted and anonymized before cloud processing. The cloud-based solution launched in 14 weeks, cut development time by 80%, and today serves more than 800 companies while processing roughly half of the nation’s credit card transactions.
