Cloud gives Saudi school kids problem-free daily home-academy transport

Tatweer Educational Transportation Services Company (TTC) is a government-owned provider that manages daily, free home-to-school transport for more than 1.2 million Saudi pupils via a nationwide fleet of 25,000 vehicles. TTC needed reliable, real-time visibility and reporting of every journey — including in remote areas with poor connectivity — while minimizing on-premises hardware and IT overhead and meeting a stringent availability requirement from its client, the Ministry of Education.

TTC migrated key services (Exchange and disaster‑recovery functions) to Microsoft Azure, preserving the user experience while enabling nationwide upload and monitoring of operational data and a 99.95% SLA. The move improved reliability and disaster recovery, cut operational costs, and freed IT resources; TTC is now expanding cloud use with plans for a public-facing tracking site and exploration of analytics and IoT.
