OMD OM Group, a Russian holding of advertising and media agencies with about 650 employees and offices across Russia, faced rapidly growing file storage (12–15 TB) scattered across heterogeneous devices and an expiring HP support contract. The company needed secure, cost‑effective storage, a disaster‑tolerant backup data center and lower IT maintenance overhead.

OMD implemented Microsoft Azure with StorSimple 8100 hybrid storage, Azure Site Recovery and Azure Active Directory Premium alongside Office 365, giving 15 TB local plus up to 200 TB cloud storage with compression and encryption. Migration of 12–15 TB began in January, with improved resilience, centralized management and an expected 40–60% reduction in storage costs; the firm also plans broader cloud migration and Azure Machine Learning pilots.
