Case Study: Sensoro achieves rapid global growth and scalable IoT big-data deployments with Microsoft Azure

Chinese startup grows rapidly by offering big data IoT solution in the cloud

Sensoro is a Beijing-founded startup (2013) that builds low-power wireless sensors and an end-to-end IoT Alpha Product Suite to collect and analyze physical-world data. Starting with three employees and rapid growth to 97 staff serving 65 countries, the company faced big-data scale challenges—thousands of sensors reporting frequently—and needed commercial guidance and a scalable cloud platform to realize its vision.

With support from the Microsoft Accelerator and Azure, Sensoro developed a cloud-backed, long-range IoT network and centralized management engine that scales as sensors are added and integrates with customers’ analytics. The solution powers municipal and enterprise deployments—more than 2,000 sensors in Beijing, a Sensoro system that detected 50 early incidents at a Nanjing festival preventing fire casualties, and a nearly $10M Shanghai project—enabling global expansion and new market entry.
