Case Study: Mogile Technologies scales ChargeHub and boosts EV adoption with Microsoft Azure

A Microsoft Azure Case Study

Preview of the Mogile Technologies Case Study

Charging up electric-vehicle adoption in the cloud

Mogile Technologies built ChargeHub to help drivers find public electric-vehicle charging stations across Canada and the U.S., addressing the barrier of fragmented, hard-to-find charging infrastructure. As the app grew from a few hundred stations to tens of thousands and hundreds of thousands of users, the team needed a more scalable, centrally managed platform—especially after third-party services like Parse shut down.

Mogile migrated its platform to Microsoft Azure using App Service, Azure Cosmos DB (Mongo protocol), Azure Search, Azure SQL Database, and Storage, gaining on-demand scalability, geo-replication, centralized management, and analytics. The result: a database of more than 46,000 stations, about 200,000 users, near-real-time status updates (every five minutes), and partnerships with OEMs and distributors—helping reduce range anxiety and accelerating EV adoption.
