Canadian Tire keeps the wheels of commerce turning safely, triples online sales with the help of Microsoft Teams

Canadian Tire, a major Canadian retailer with more than 500 stores, faced a sudden curbside pickup and online ordering surge during COVID-19. It needed a safe, scalable way to manage order pickups, keep customers informed, and reduce stress for frontline workers. Canadian Tire worked with Microsoft Azure and Microsoft Teams as part of the solution.

Microsoft Azure and Microsoft Teams, implemented with partner SYNQ and connected to Twilio, created a secure curbside pickup workflow with organized queues, customer messaging, and manager escalations. The rollout was completed quickly, with 150 employees trained within 24 hours, and online sales increased dramatically—up to nine times overall and two to three times above pre-pandemic levels.
