Building supplies retailer constructs lucrative B2B portal

Løvenskiold‑Vækerø’s subsidiary Løvenskiold Handel (MAXBO) is a leading Norwegian building‑supplies retailer that needed to close a gap for professional customers. Its B2C Magento site and on‑premises Dynamics AX/BizTalk setup couldn’t handle the millions of pricing permutations, project‑based ordering, and company‑level workflows required for B2B—causing slow quotes, frustrated customers, and a risk of losing business to faster competitors.

Working with iBiz Solutions, the company deployed a hybrid Azure solution using Azure API Management, App Service, Table Storage and BizTalk Server to cache nightly pricing, expose 10 APIs for price, stock and order queries, and route finalized orders to Dynamics AX behind the firewall. The result: queries that once took 10–20 seconds now average ~80 ms, 130,000 API calls in 30 days, 900 B2B customers in three months, faster self‑serve order management, and a scalable foundation for direct ERP integrations and future cloud migration.
