BP strengthens cybersecurity and regulatory compliance with Microsoft Azure and Azure Security Center

BP, a global energy company, has spent the past five years moving much of its IT environment to Microsoft Azure as part of a broader digital transformation. As its cloud footprint grew, BP needed a better way to govern access across 250 subscriptions, replace a manual and inconsistent process, and gain clearer visibility into cloud spending.

Using Microsoft Azure, BP implemented Azure Policy for governance and Azure Cost Management, along with Azure Advisor, to enforce controls, automate policy delivery, and monitor usage more closely. The result was more consistent and scalable cloud governance, faster infrastructure deployment, and a 40% reduction in cloud spend, even as usage nearly doubled.
