Scorechain is a France-based startup that provides business intelligence and big-data solutions to help companies assess opportunities and risks in Bitcoin and other blockchain transactions. To calculate its SCx trustworthiness scores and detect potentially suspicious activity, Scorechain must collect and weekly rebuild enormous blockchain datasets and run intensive analytics—requiring high compute power, low latency, and easy scalability while protecting individual user privacy.

Scorechain runs its analytics on Microsoft Azure using HDInsight and an open-source analytics stack (notably Apache Spark), scaling dozens of virtual instances and premium SSD storage as data grows. The solution lets Scorechain maintain a 5+ TB database, run large analyses quickly with low latency, support licensed customers such as exchanges and audit firms, cover hosting and compute costs, and pursue future blockchain projects like private ledgers and trusted smart contracts.
