Case Study: BioCatch achieves 1,500% faster response times and rapid elastic scaling with Microsoft Azure

A Microsoft Azure Case Study

Preview of the BioCatch Case Study

BioCatch Does Amazing Things with Open Source on Microsoft Azure

BioCatch is a Tel Aviv–based cybersecurity firm that uses behavioral biometrics to protect banks and enterprises by analyzing hundreds of human-device interaction signals. Rapid growth — surging from millions to tens of millions of users — exposed limits in its original monolithic, VM-based architecture: slow code changes, high infrastructure costs, and insufficient elastic scale to keep up with fraudsters and customer demand.

To fix this, BioCatch re-architected the platform into microservices and containers on Azure Container Service with open-source DC/OS, moved core algorithms to Python, and adopted continuous delivery and DevOps practices. The result: average response times improved by more than 1,500%, automatic scaling that ramps in about 20 seconds, up to 15 daily deployments, significantly lower costs, and the ability to process far more data and pursue new markets.
