Berendsen plc, a European provider of premium linen services with 140 sites and 15,000 employees, needed a way to track linen through the processing cycle and surface timely operational and customer data to maximise efficiency and service quality for hospitality, healthcare and other clients.

Using Microsoft Azure and IoT sensors to monitor linen volume, quality and durability, and leveraging HDInsight and Power BI to visualise data for managers and customers (including mobile access), Berendsen gained faster access to key insights, reduced the burden of on-premises infrastructure, and improved operational efficiency and client service.
