The Port Authority of New South Wales, a state-owned corporation that manages Sydney’s international cruise terminals and multiple regional ports, faced a rapid IT challenge after consolidating five ports and taking on management of three more. With roughly 200 servers, 80 TB of data, and a two-year deadline to centralize domains and IT services for additional ports, the organization needed a faster, more scalable disaster-recovery and infrastructure model to support operations and a mobile workforce.

Partnering with cubesys, the Port Authority migrated disaster-recovery and development/test environments to Microsoft Azure using Azure Site Recovery, Azure Backup, ExpressRoute, StorSimple, and Operations Management Suite, and began adopting Azure AD and Office 365.
