Case Study: ArcelorMittal achieves greater cost control and innovation with Microsoft Azure

A Microsoft Azure Case Study

Preview of the ArcelorMittal Case Study

ArcelorMittal inside the steel manufacturer’s data-driven approach towards industry 4.0

ArcelorMittal, the Luxembourg-based global steel and mining company, needed to modernize its IT infrastructure and reduce the cost and complexity of running SAP workloads across multiple on-premises data centers. It partnered with Microsoft Azure, using Azure to migrate SAP and other workloads to the cloud and create a more flexible, data-driven operating model.

With Microsoft Azure, ArcelorMittal moved most of its SAP applications into the cloud through NTT DATA Business Solutions, gaining real-time visibility into data, stronger cost control, and new analytics capabilities. The company reported improved efficiency, faster reporting, automated offer optimization, and daily instead of weekly or monthly operational insights, helping it respond better during COVID-19 and laying the foundation for predictive maintenance and further innovation.
