Alterway, a French open source and DevOps specialist serving medium-sized and enterprise clients, faced the challenge of strengthening governance, control, and security across mixed web environments while building agile new applications in a cloud setting. To meet these needs, it partnered with Microsoft Azure and used Azure to support open source stacks and web technologies such as Linux, PHP, WordPress, and Drupal.

Microsoft Azure implemented a flexible cloud foundation that simplified management of heterogeneous environments and gave Alterway faster access to cloud benefits, along with Azure’s security, scalability, and open-source compatibility. The result was a more agile and secure offering for customers and web agencies, and Alterway’s success was recognized with the Open Source and Microsoft Azure Partner of the Year Award in 2015.
