A Microsoft Azure Case Study
Nexon, a South Korean online gaming company, faced challenges in managing unpredictable growth cycles and massive data processing for its games. The high costs and slower response speeds of the public cloud were obstacles, especially for games requiring millisecond precision. To effectively use system resources and maintain service quality, Nexon sought to establish its own private cloud infrastructure using Microsoft Azure's Hyper-V and System Center solutions.
Microsoft Azure's solution involved implementing a private cloud using Hyper-V on Windows Server 2012 R2, managed by System Center 2012 R2. This provided Nexon with the flexibility of the cloud while dramatically reducing operating costs to a fifth of their previous amount. The solution delivered exceptional performance with 99.99% uptime, no difference in service from physical servers, and comprehensive management of its hybrid cloud environment. Nexon achieved its goal of cutting costs while maintaining speed and developer convenience.
