TOMRA, a Norwegian manufacturer focused on collection and sorting solutions for recycling, wanted a secure way to connect and centralize machine data across its global operations. To support its TOMRA Insight initiative, the company turned to Microsoft Azure Stream Analytics along with Azure IoT services to build a scalable, data-driven platform for monitoring sorting equipment and improving recycling supply chains.

Microsoft Azure Stream Analytics helped TOMRA and its partner Inimco create TOMRA Insight, a secure, nearly real-time monitoring platform powered by Azure IoT, IoT Edge, and analytics services. The solution gives customers visibility into machine performance and operations, enabling better follow-up, reduced downtime, higher throughput, lower operating costs, and improved output quality, while supporting integration with ERP and other business systems.
