South Korean fuel cell technology innovator reaches new heights with Microsoft Azure IoT

Doosan Mobility Innovation, a South Korean manufacturing innovator, developed a hydrogen fuel cell drone that can fly for up to two hours—far beyond the industry average of 30 minutes—but needed a new way to monitor and manage longer flights and greater distances. The company worked with Microsoft Azure Stream Analytics, along with Azure IoT Hub and Azure Machine Learning, to support real-time oversight and data analysis for its drones.

With Microsoft Azure, Doosan Mobility Innovation built a remote monitoring and analytics solution that tracks key flight data such as altitude, hydrogen level, consumption output, and flight history, even from up to 70 kilometers away. Using Azure Stream Analytics for inspection data and Azure Machine Learning for predictive maintenance, Microsoft helped Doosan improve safety, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness while enabling new applications in solar, oil and gas, agriculture, and humanitarian delivery.
