Legrand unlocks smart-building innovation with open IoT cloud

Legrand, a global leader in electrical and building infrastructure products, needed a common, scalable way to connect thousands of products to customers and third-party devices as part of its Eliot IoT program. To accelerate innovation and improve interoperability across smart-home and commercial building offerings, Legrand turned to Microsoft Azure Stream Analytics and the broader Azure IoT platform.

Microsoft Azure helped Legrand build the Legrand Cloud on Azure services including Azure IoT Hub, Azure API Management, Azure Event Hubs, Azure Functions, and Azure Stream Analytics to ingest, clean, and route device data. The result was a single technical foundation for all connected products, faster time to market, and easier integration with partner and third-party products; by 2018, Legrand had launched more than 30 families of connected products and improved security, comfort, and energy management for customers.
