Kohler brings the IoT revolution to your bath

Kohler, the 145-year-old consumer goods company, wanted to move beyond traditional tubs and toilets and enter the smart-home market with connected kitchen and bath products. To do that, Kohler partnered with Microsoft Azure Stream Analytics and other Azure IoT services to build KOHLER Konnect, an IoT platform that could add intelligence, interactivity, and secure cloud connectivity to its products.

Microsoft Azure Stream Analytics helped power the solution by processing IoT telemetry from connected devices, enabling hot-path analytics such as anomaly detection and feeding data into storage and business systems. With Azure, Kohler created a demo in just two months and cut its development cycle in half while lowering startup investment, positioning the company to launch smart products faster in China, the United States, and other markets.
