TUKU makes car buying fun with help from Azure services

TUKU, a Canadian retail technology company, needed a contactless, scalable way to engage showroom car shoppers who research vehicles on their smartphones and often avoid sales staff. To solve that challenge they built the AutoTour mobile marketing system on the Azure platform, leveraging Microsoft Azure CDN to deliver high-bandwidth content and other Azure services for a managed, scalable backend.

Using Microsoft Azure CDN along with Azure App Service, SQL Server, DocumentDB, Event Hub, Data Factory and Datazen, TUKU launched AutoTour in about 2.5 months at Competition Toyota. The touchpoint-driven mobile browser experience requires no app, serves cached media quickly via Microsoft Azure CDN, captures shopper events into SQL Server and Datazen dashboards to trigger test-drive requests and presales insights, and is fully cloud-scalable—deployable across thousands of dealerships while reducing infrastructure overhead and downtime.
