EPLAN opts for global rollout of its data portal in the Azure cloud

EPLAN Software and Service GmbH and Co. KG, the maker of the EPLAN Data Portal used by about 100,000 users, faced scaling and global-delivery limits while hosting its platform on servers in Germany. To enable rapid international growth into markets such as Asia and the US and ensure high availability, EPLAN turned to Microsoft Azure CDN and the broader Microsoft Azure cloud services for a more scalable, globally distributed solution.

EPLAN migrated the portal to Microsoft Azure in a three-month effort with Azure experts, replacing on‑prem components with AzureSQL, Blob Storage and IIS+PHP and deploying Microsoft Azure CDN for worldwide content delivery. The move delivered central administration, much faster instance provisioning, exceptional scalability and improved global availability, enabling expansion into new markets and supporting the platform’s large user base thanks to Microsoft Azure CDN.
