A MicroPact Case Study
The United States Department of Labor’s Adjudicatory Boards — supported by the Office of the Clerk of the Appellate Boards (OCAB) — faced a major workflow challenge: staff had to use three separate legacy systems (one on Lotus Notes) that could not run concurrently or be accessed remotely, forcing centralized work on multiple desktops. To solve this, the Boards selected MicroPact’s entellitrak platform.
MicroPact implemented entellitrak as a consolidated, web-based case management and BPM solution, configured for 18 distinct job roles to enable correct routing, workflow prompts and real-time reporting. The solution enabled remote work (two scheduled telework days per month plus unscheduled days during emergencies), sustained operations during events like the 2011 snowstorm and Hurricane Sandy, and helped OCAB manage as many as 5,000 appeals yearly while accelerating appeals processing and improving overall responsiveness.
