Children’s Medical Group, a Poughkeepsie-based pediatric practice with 23 providers across eight offices, was hampered by an aging UNIX-based practice management system that had a complex interface, slow performance and lengthy new‑user training, limiting scheduling, account management and financial reporting. To modernize operations they selected MicroMD and its MicroMD PM Windows client‑server practice management solution for its ease of use, comprehensive features and implementation support.

MicroMD converted, configured and installed MicroMD PM (completed in four months with no manual data re-entry) and deployed it across a central server/T‑1 network and mixed client PCs. The MicroMD implementation delivered measurable gains: patient visits rose 4%, claims rejection rate fell 20%, straight collections as a percentage of billed charges increased 15%, reports that once took hours are now available in minutes, payments are received faster, and new‑user training time dropped from about two weeks to two–three days.
