Billing firm expands services and supports clients with MicroMD PM

The Consult, Inc., a Cincinnati-based billing and practice consulting firm serving more than 50 medical practices, needed a modern, Windows-based practice management system with robust reporting, easy scheduling, EMR compatibility, and a cost-effective value proposition to support service expansion into new markets. After evaluating about a dozen systems, The Consult selected MicroMD PM (from Henry Schein Medical Systems) to replace their outdated, hard-to-use platform.

MicroMD implemented MicroMD PM and enabled a fast conversion — The Consult’s 70-person billing staff was largely operational within a week — and today 50 clients use MicroMD PM (about half via web-based ASP) with remote-access training and support. The MicroMD solution let The Consult offer flexible, à la carte services and delivered strong performance gains: many reports that once took two hours now run in under a minute, an 80‑doctor practice’s annual financial report dropped from eight hours to about 15 minutes, and autoposting from electronic remittance advice now takes only a coffee break instead of a full day.
