Louisiana State University at Alexandria - Customer Case Study

Louisiana State University at Alexandria (LSUA), a rapidly growing community-based college managing 300,000 gross square feet of facilities, faced increasing maintenance demands as enrollment rose more than 14% each semester. Jerry Bell, LSUA’s director of Physical Plant, needed a way to coordinate work across an understaffed operations team and keep up with preventive and reactive maintenance for a campus expanding toward four-year status.

LSUA implemented Austin‑based MicroMain’s CMMS to create a centralized maintenance database that automates work orders, tracks assets, warranties and service contracts, and schedules preventive maintenance. The system improved visibility and coordination, reduced labor and time spent on maintenance tasks, and positioned the university to manage further enrollment-driven growth.
