Dallas Zoo - Customer Case Study

The Dallas Zoo, Texas’ largest and oldest zoo spanning 106 acres with over 200 facilities and 135 vehicles/equipment, struggled with inefficient maintenance processes: handwritten work requests that were often lost, asset data scattered across spreadsheets, and no reliable labor tracking or reporting.

After implementing MicroMain’s CMMS—chosen for its cost-effectiveness and feature set—the zoo centralized preventive maintenance, asset tracking (including many zoo-specific items), and electronic work requests. The system saves the 270‑person team about 30 hours per week, improves reporting and accountability for managers, and has prompted interest in expanding use with a mobile add-on.
