Case Study: Direct Sameday reduces insurance premiums and improves driver safety with Microlise Flare

A Microlise Case Study

Preview of the Direct Sameday Case Study

Protecting drivers and vulnerable road users with Flare

Direct Sameday, a same‑day collection and delivery specialist with a fleet of over 60 vehicles, needed to equip drivers to work efficiently and safely while also tackling rising insurance costs. To protect drivers and reduce risk across its vans and lorries, Direct Sameday turned to Microlise and its Flare Driver Hazard Warning system.

Microlise implemented Flare — a 360° hazard alert platform that warns drivers of static risks (low bridges, width/weight restrictions) and dynamic threats (vulnerable road users, debris, weather, potholes) and integrates with apps like Bolt for e‑scooter/e‑bike alerts. As a result, Direct Sameday reduced its annual insurance premium, secured a 2‑year fixed deal with insurers impressed by the proactive safety measures, and rolled out the Flare app across its team to improve on‑road safety and awareness.
