Maritime Transport, the UK’s largest container transport operator, needed to increase efficiencies and find a telematics partner to support a wider technology and data innovation programme. After market evaluation the company partnered with Microlise and introduced telematics across an initial fleet of 700 vehicles (later expanded), seeking better insight into driver and vehicle performance and improved asset utilisation.

Microlise implemented its telematics platform—including Journey Management with Customer Service and Schedule Execution Boards, Microlise DriveTab and A‑G driver reports—providing real‑time visibility, two‑way driver communication and actionable performance data. The deployment cut engine idling to a single‑figure percentage with clear fuel cost savings and ROI, delivered further fuel and safety gains via driver coaching, improved planning and reduced mileage, and was rolled out across the entire Maritime fleet.
