Brit European Embarks On A Bold Strategy To Reduce Its Environmental Impact And Increase Efficiencies

Brit European, a transport operator facing recession-era cost pressure and a base of fixed costs not tied to activity, launched an Environmental Efficiency Project to cut fleet carbon emissions by 25% and reduce dependence on oil through dual‑fuel vehicles. After evaluating twelve providers, Brit European selected Microlise and implemented its telematics solutions, notably the Fleet Performance and Journey Management products, to drive efficiency, improve driving standards and increase operational visibility.

Microlise deployed Fleet Performance to monitor and rank driver behaviour and Journey Management (with features like playback, airport-style arrivals/departures and the Scheduled Execution Board) to compare planned versus actual routes and provide real‑time visibility. The result: manage‑by‑exception coaching that saves management and driver time, more proactive customer communication, improved planning and higher satisfaction — including reduced turnaround times in extreme cases from two hours to one hour fifteen minutes — demonstrating Microlise’s measurable impact on efficiency and environmental goals.
