Brit European Embarks On A Bold Strategy To Reduce Its Environmental Impact And Increase Efficiencies

Brit European, a transport operator facing recession-era cost pressure and a base of fixed costs not tied to activity, launched an Environmental Efficiency Project to cut fleet carbon emissions by 25% and reduce dependence on oil through dual‑fuel vehicles. Microlise deployed Fleet Performance to monitor and rank driver behaviour and Journey Management (with features like playback, airport-style arrivals/departures and the Scheduled Execution Board) to compare planned versus actual routes and provide real‑time visibility. The result: manage‑by‑exception coaching that saves management and driver time, more proactive customer communication, improved planning and higher satisfaction — including reduced turnaround times in extreme cases from two hours to one hour fifteen minutes — demonstrating Microlise’s measurable impact on efficiency and environmental goals.
