How Omnicare Medical Center used BlinkID to reduce waiting time by 83%

Omnicare Medical Center, a healthcare provider with locations across Turks and Caicos, needed a faster way to onboard patients for COVID-19 testing during peak demand. With handwritten forms and a growing influx of travelers and locals, registration was creating major bottlenecks, and the team looked to Microblink and its BlinkID ID scanning technology for help.

Microblink implemented BlinkID on Omnicare’s mobile devices so staff could scan identity documents, automatically extract patient data, and quickly fill in forms, even in the field with unreliable internet. The result was an 83% reduction in total wait time, from about 90 minutes to 15–20 minutes, plus a 2,810% increase in daily testing capacity from 20 tests to 582, along with 95% data extraction accuracy and faster reporting with less manual entry.
