Wigan Council partnered with MICHELIN Connected Fleet after seeking a new telematics provider to help manage its mixed fleet of 320 vehicles, including HGVs, LCVs and cars. The council wanted to reduce engine idling, cut fuel costs, lower emissions, and better understand driver behaviour and training needs.

MICHELIN Connected Fleet delivered telematics data, custom reporting, and personalised performance analysis to support behaviour change and targeted driver training. As a result, Wigan Council reduced engine idling by 29% over 12 months, lowered harsh driving events, improved vehicle utilisation, and achieved noticeable savings in energy, fuel spend, and environmental impact.
