Restore Datashred - Customer Case Study

Restore Datashred, a UK leader in confidential shredding with a fleet of over 300 vans, LGVs and HGVs, faced the challenge of cutting carbon emissions and fuel use while improving road safety, route efficiency and driver behaviour. To tackle this, Restore Datashred partnered with MICHELIN Connected Fleet, deploying Tachofresh telematics across its vehicles to give real‑time visibility into driver performance, fuel consumption and route optimisation.

MICHELIN Connected Fleet implemented telematics, weekly reporting and driver coaching to right‑size routes, reduce idling and improve driving habits. The programme delivered an 8.9% reduction in fuel consumption per mile — equal to about 182,000 litres saved and 477 tonnes of CO2 avoided over the year (fleet mileage: 7,963,000 km) — and earned Restore Datashred a Gold Fleet status award, placing them among the top 2% of UK fleets.
