Stericycle, a leading UK healthcare waste specialist, needed to boost safety, compliance and sustainability while uncovering fleet cost savings. To achieve this they partnered with MICHELIN Connected Fleet to leverage telematics data and consultancy to identify efficiency and productivity opportunities across routes, drivers and vehicles.

MICHELIN Connected Fleet delivered telematics-driven analysis and ongoing consultancy—optimising route scheduling and turnarounds, improving driver behaviour visibility, and maximising vehicle utilisation—which produced £4.2m in net savings. Outcomes included removing 80 under‑utilised vehicles, fuel reductions from smarter routing, lower insurance costs through clearer driver visibility, and £1.4m of productivity gains in 2018 (including £140k from first‑journey routing, £250k from depot turnarounds, £430k from reducing unproductive driver time and over £2m from vehicle rationalisation).
