A MICHELIN Connected Fleet Case Study

Preview of the City West Works Case Study

How City West Works used Masternaut’s vehicle tracking to detect areas of improvement in fuel costs and CO2 emissions

City West Works, a maintenance arm of City West Housing Trust serving 14,600 homes in West Salford, needed to reduce rising fuel costs and CO2 emissions while better managing its large mobile workforce of tradespeople. To tackle this, the organisation adopted vehicle-tracking telematics from MICHELIN Connected Fleet (Masternaut) to gain real-time visibility and benchmark driving behaviour across its fleet.

MICHELIN Connected Fleet installed the Masternaut telematics across 105 vehicles, providing weekly driver-behaviour reports, a driving‑score points system, and real‑time location tracking. As a result, City West Works cut fuel costs by nearly £17,000, reduced CO2 emissions by 40.6 tonnes, improved driving habits, gained HR/security benefits, and extended the contract — demonstrating clear operational and environmental impact.
