Canon Finland wanted to make the launch of the new Canon M50 camera come alive by turning hashtagged user-generated content into a promotional asset. With the #rentacanon campaign—where renters could claim back rental fees by posting work shot on the M50—Canon faced the challenge of discovering, moderating and celebrating the best submissions on their website, so they partnered with Miappi and used the Miappi dashboard/platform to manage the influx of content.

Miappi curated and moderated the hashtagged posts, selectively releasing the strongest work to a consumer-facing widget embedded on Canon’s site. By using Miappi, Canon could efficiently discover and publish the best customer stories, creating a visually engaging gallery that demonstrated the M50’s value, removed the headache of sifting through submissions and helped drive authentic customer-led promotion.
