Trenord, the primary railway service in Italy's Lombardy region, faced the challenge of aggregating complex and disparate data from across its business areas to transform from a traditional railway company into a digital mobility platform. They partnered with Mia-Platform to create a unified digital platform that could centralize this data and power a new, comprehensive mobile application for their passengers.

Mia-Platform designed and implemented a solution that consolidated Trenord's planned and real-time route data, developed new services, and built a user-friendly app. The results were significant: the app launched within six months and quickly reached 800,000 downloads with over 50,000 daily active users. Mobile ticket sales surpassed those on the website, and the platform's flexible API-first approach enabled new commercial agreements, such as with Moovit, with minimal additional investment.
